Guest guest
Hi everyone, I went to see a Dr. of physical therapy and had a very confusing visit. He is another Dr. that doesn't think I have CMT. I have leg reflexes but none in my arms. I also have normal looking calves so he said after having this for 15 years, I shouldn't have normal calves. He does believe I have something. My fingers curl but they are my pinky and my ring finger on both hands. He said CMT would effect the thumb and other fingers first. I have had other doctors talk about how I have deteroration by my thumb but he didnt see it. I am so frustrated. He is sending me to OT to work on my hands and find some tools that might help me day to day. I was diagnosed at 18 with CMT. I do not know what type. I had the typical foot drop and high arch and was immediately put in AFOs. I have had several surgeries since then and I am not able to walk good at all now. I use a wheelchair to get around when I am out in public. This doctor told me he didn't think I needed the chair. I use the chair because of major pain from all the surgeries and because I fatigue easily. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
