Guest guest
P.S. Joana, I also have it in my back with deteriorating disc disease and Pagets disease of the bone. I am on Neurontin and that helps my back pain because the sciatic nerve is involved. But the pain in my hip knee and ankle nothing seems to help. Barb C. Guest guest
Dear Barb C. Thank you for your email ... I am very sorry to hear about your problem...I really hope those injections will help you. I know, we have to try anything when we have pain and disconfort. Sometimes my pain gets better but the walking is a major problem I feel. We have to be always willing to be positive and have strengh to carry on no matter what! All the best wishes to you my friend. Guest guest
Barb: I have/had loss of bone in my front pelvis bone as well as loss in my legs and pain in my lower back. My doctor put me on Actonel, 35 mg pill once a week. It stops bone loss and helps to rebuild bone. After a month I had no pain in hip while sitting and lower back pain went away. It is prescribed for Padgets (I don't have). Anyway I'm still on Actonel but can't get on bone density machine to see how I'm doing. I did the bone density on my forearm and it was in the normal range. I'm still taking it as I'm not walking and to keep bone mass you must do weight bearing activities. Sitting is all I do and transferring and standing. I feel like the pain is from losing the bone less structure putting pressure on nerves. Anyway, this is what has helped me. Guest guest
Hi, yourself, Joana, waaaaaaayyy over there !!! Yes, it's real important to take this type of medication ON Time and Continuously to have any affect. Also, there saying calcium with Vit. D., some packages now of Actionel are include a calcium pill (500 mg.) so you won't forget. My diet has a lot of calcium and I just take the 500 mg. that's provided. I hope you take care of yourself and take it slow until you get to the appropriate doctors. Donna B.
Guest guest
Dear Donna, So nice to hear from you! Yes, I did take it yesterday the FOSAMAX.lol Now, I have been taking another form of calcium so far ...the calcium EAP2,my nutristionist told me that it would be much better calcium for the nerves too...so now I just don't know regarding the Calcichew with D3? I did not take the calcium prescribed from my GP because it would be too much calcium, Donna. I will need to find out more about the D3 vitamin. Well, I would love to hear from you again Donna. Have a Wonderful day my friend. Bye bye from now. Joana
