Guest guest
News from the April, 2006 CMT Clinic at Wayne State University. Clinical Trials for CMT1A We have made a lot of progress on our clinical trial for patients with CMT1A. Researchers in France found that high levels of ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) given to mice with CMT1A seemed to actually improve their condition. We have designed the study and have applied for a grant for funding. The trial will operate out of three centers: Wayne Stare University, s Hopkins University, and the University of Rochester, in NY. We hope to start the trial by the end of 2006. Patients enrolled in the study will have to make 6 to 7 visits over the course of two years to a center to be followed in the study.
