Hi Brent, The Saffron absolute at Liberty Natural has a nice aroma to it, I think. As oils go, it's not terribly expensive: $18.00 for 1/4 oz. They do have a $50 minimum order, though I think if you are just ordering a few samples they will waive that. Have you read Ambrosia's recent blog on musk? It's not a recipe- but she makes some great observations about different aromatics with musky notes. I think the post was within the last week or so.
