Guest guest
My NB cross-trainers are built on the S1-last, which was recommended to me by Stefan, my orthotist at Swiss Balance. Originally I started out in a S-1 last from , that he recommended. The S-1 last means that if you put a ruler on the bottom of your shoe, from middle of the heel to middle of the toe, the line should be straight. Shoes on a S-1 last work best for my and my custom in-shoe orthotics. Naturally, because the orthotics take up room - even though the NB shoes are wider and built for a woman's feet, I order an 8, even though my ordinary shoe size is about 6 and 1/2. I prefer my cross trainers the best because they are extremely durable, nothing is 'soft' and I can go from walking the dog, to biking, to the gym, to the market, to the hiking in the hills in one pair of shoes. Another thing about my cross trainers they don't wear out as fast, but I still purchase 2 pair a year, as my Internist (and a runner) has suggested. ~ Gretchen
