Guest guest
Dear Gretchen, Thank you for the warm welcome. The articles on the new Vitamin C treatmens are really interesting. I went to buy it immediately. In-shoe orthotics are not helpful anylonger for me, because, even though they stablize my feet, they don't allow the foot-muscles to stretch after the surgeries. I already am completely evaluated and am X-rayed twice each year to see how good the improvement is. There are 3 more surgeries to come, one on each hip and one on my back. But you all know the problems, so I don't need to explain it to you. Luckily here in Germany my insurance pays for it all (even for the DNA-testing). My tremors are kind of bad. I read just read your statement about the medication you take. My doctors won't perscribe any to me, because of the side effects. Last time I came into the USA the guy at the custom would not give me my Visa for the stay, because I had many coffees on the flight and the tremors were really bad whenever we landed. He asked me, if I had a reason to be that nervous and why I was 'shaking'. It took 20 minutes to explain the disease to him and than he would finally give the visa to me. Looking back at it, it was kind of funny, but at that moment it wasn't. I learned from it, and next time I won't drink any coffee. Every once in a while I take muscle-relaxants ( " Soma " -carisoprodol). Do you know, if they have any long time side effects? I am so glad, I finally found quality informations about CMT and to meet people, who understand what it's like to live with CMT. You are doing a great job with this web-site. Sincerely, Fabian
