Questions - CMT Arms, Elbow & Ulnar Nerve

Hello all. I have experienced a fairly rapid loss of strength in my

arms within the last three years. An EMG/NCV showed an 80%+ loss of

strength in my arms and even more sensory loss. This is hard for me

to notice since I have never really had " full strength " in my arms.

But what I do notice is the excessive fatigue in both arms after doing

almost any small task (including writing & typing). That is my

background information for my question about ulnar nerve compression

(aka " funny bone " ).

I have a pinched nerve in my elbows of both arms, but much worse in

the right arm. When reading the EMG results, the neurologist told me

that even though the pinched nerve was bad, surgery would probably not

be a great help due to the fact that the progression of CMT will soon

render the nerve useless. That was 2 years ago and I still have the

pain from the pinched nerve.

Also, it seems as if the elbow nerve is somehow connected to problems

with my back (under my right shoulder blade). When moving my head

sideways, I can feel pain under my shoulder that seems to radiate out

to my elbow. But the neurologist said that these are totally separate

nerves that are not related. He mentioned doing an EMG on my back to

further investigate.

Has anyone else here had similar problems? If so, what was the

outcome or treatment?

Any input is appreciated.
