Have you tried Boost? It is a liquid supplement that comes in various flavors.

My son the air plant will drink the chocolate if it is refrigerator temperature.

Some kids will drink ensure. There is a " diet " drink that is nutritionally

complete that I can't remember the name of but you see it everywhere.

Unfortunately, it is not lactose-free, and my kid is also lactose intolerant.

Dear Kathy,

We've been around this one before, haven't we?

I can't sneak anything into anything successfully, with the

exception of extra eggs (and only in something cooked - eggs make her

actually gag). Annie can detect a grain of anything foreign, and is so picky

that she won't drink milk that isn't EXACTLY the right temperature (and it's

not just being a brat - she shivers and gets goosebumps if it tastes the

least bit " off " ). Having never had white bread, she does eat the whole grain

variety, but that's about my only victory.

And since I'm a vegetarian myself, I'm very familiar with all kinds

of yummy foods - none of which she will eat (although she is required to

taste every one). Often she will say " yum " but after a few bites she changes

her mind, or after two days of liking something she suddenly hates it. For a

few days last month I thought I'd scored a hit - I bought some of those " Lean

Pocket " thingies with eggs, cheese and bacon. I thought if it was prepackaged

it would be full of all kinds of nasties that would taste great to her - and

it did!! I bought them again and after eating another one, she won't consider

it now. So they are frosting away happily at the back of the freezer.

When I think about it, it's astounding that she is alive. And given

that she has an obsession with candy and other sweet things, it's also

amazing that she has any teeth.

Oh well, she is growing like a weed so I'm not overly concerned

about her health (and her brother seems to be growing surviving entirely on

air), but it's so frustrating. I KNOW she would do better on a better diet.

Thanks for the tips though - you've encouraged me to try again!
