I have come down with kidney failure and am on dialysis; I am interested in

K-tea to help the healing process. The kidneys do not filter the blood -

they produce urine but do not filter; does anyone have any experience with

something like this?

Hi Darrell,

When you first begin to drink Kombucha tea, heavy metals and other toxins are

excreted from the body through the kidneys....if your kidneys are not

functioning normally this could be a problem.

In any case, if you do decide to try Kombucha tea please start with no more than

a tablespoon in a glass of water and see how it feels over a period of several

days or longer before very slowly adding a bit more.

Please go very slowly and pay great attention to the effects each time on your

body.

Peace, Love and Harmony,

Bev

I'm venturing into " unknown " territory too, having had very serious kidney

problems last year due to a large stag horn calculus. Ironically, a few of my KT

jars are harboring what most people would say looks like a jellyfish, but to MY

eyes they are reminiscent of what my kidney grew! I just went through a series

of tests and although I still have decreased kidney function (only 14% in one

due to the stag's damage), they are filtering the blood well. The calculus is

specifically caused by an infection so I'm sure there's no harm in me drinking

the KT. But if anyone has a different opinion or information, I'd like to hear

about it.

That " jellyfish " is just a small scoby. Perfectly notmal and healthy.

Filter out or just drink - I just drink them down with the KT.

I kind of had that one figured out after the initial batches I started using

some of Dave's raw organic Synergy KT. Those batches ironically, have never had

a scoby grow across the width of the containers but are now acidic enough to

drink. I'm filtering and reusing the scobies. I think I'd gag on those big

blobs!

The one batch I did not add Dave's KT to grew a 3 " pure white mother in just 2

weeks time.... the brew tasted like pure vinegar! But it is now my " super

starter " , as every batch I've added it to has shown the makings of a scoby

within 2-days time; including my new 1.5 gal dispenser!! I wound up with a nice

1/8 " square white scoby in a 2-qt container in just 5-days. The brew was quite

vinegary, but not overpowering like the original was. I've got the brewing down

pretty good now so my next venture is experimenting with flavors. I just

produced some tea that tasted like a semi-dry red wine.

Blessings and Merry Christmas to all. Stay safe and warm.

Hi,

Just go very slowly, as in the beginning, toxins are removed through the kidneys

when taking Kombucha tea. If you have any problems with the KT just cut back to

a lesser amount or none for awhile until the symptoms pass. By slowly, I mean a

tablespoon the first day and that taken in a glass of water and continue that

way for a week or so before adding any more. By going slowly you can avoid to

rapid a detox for your kidneys to handle. Wishing you better and better health!
