Guest guest
I just spent some time watching bits and pieces of the June 23, 2008, testimony before the Committee on Public School Accountability. I found it ironic that Nona s expressed concern about the cost of due process hearings and placed the blame on the fact that hearing officers are paid on an hourly basis; therefore, there is no incentive for them to hurry along. Nona suggested a flat rate for hearing officers as a cost-saving measure. What about school districts being required to pay a flat rate to law firms representing them in due process matters?
