Guest guest
I need to voice my opinion on a couple comments here and NO I am not targeting anyone. I have heard over the years how the poor and low income families suffer much more than the rich from this type of exposure. That's true with any illness. You can't place blame on many weathy individuals because they have been such a great success financially in their life. They are only proving for their family like we are trying to do. Many of the weathy are not the decision are not decision makers. As you have heard before, there are no boundries, this crosses all boarders and it can effect every individual, rich or poor, black or white, male or female. So I think we need to get off that kick and concentrate on the real issue, not just why a minority may receive better treatment than others. With this illness who is to say they are getting the correct treatment anyway. They would have to still do their research just like we are and sometimes the weathy that can afford to lay out boocoo bucks have a tendency to agree with what any physician may tell them. Those of us that are less fortunate have no choice but to search, document, spend many hours investigating, because we don't have the funds to waste, but we are striving for the same thing. Proper, accurate diagnosis and treatment in a timely fashion. Sharon & I are just like many of you on this board, we have to do without just to put food on the table, to keep toliet paper in your bathroom and hopefully you will have a little left over at the end of the month to get that $10. prescription or bloodwork. Normally we don't. I own a car, if you want to call it that and a house, well I should say the bank still owns both, so I do not qualify for many of these federal programs. You have to be living nearly on the street before you can receive assistance. When we tried to apply it was always the same answer, you make $100. too much. So it's not easy on anyone dealing with medical issue, it's the same across the board. The main reason for bankruptcy, seperations, divorce, suicide, must I go on! Guest guest
KC, well put I must add. Molds/toxins/mycotoxins/fungi, etc do not discriminate. These toxins do not know who is rich, poor, caucasion or otherwise, etc. It can happen to anyone at any given time. Guest guest
Please let me turn " theory " into " practice " for you, from my personal experience. Fourteen months ago, I discovered that mold growing in my father's car, was making both of us sick with toxic mold reactions. Having had three previous toxic mold reaction episodes, from other sources,I was able to recognize it. I live with my father, who is 90 years old, and had never had a previous toxic mold reaction. I stopped using the car, and all of my symptoms disappeared. He has continued to use the car. His use of the car is limited to less than one hour a day, four days a week. He has been extremely sick every single day of the past 14 months, with the exception of those days that he is on prednisone. Prednisone " turns off " the body's immune system, so that it can not react to anything that would normally be inflamatory to the body. In the last 14 months he has been hospitalized six times, on prednisone,at home, another six times, on oxygen all night, at least one week per month, on nebulzed albuterol and atrovent every single day of the past 14 months, on an inceased dose of high blood pressure medicines, with symptoms including headaches, chills, dizzyness, weakness, digestive problems, sinus and asthma exacerbations. He has had all his eyelashes removed from one eye, due to inflamation of the eyelids making the lashes poke him in the eye. He averages one lung infection per month, requiring antibiotics, due to the constant state of inflamation that his lungs are in. We live in the same apartment, and I am not the slightest bit sick. He doesn't believe in mold, in spite of the mold cultures I've grown, from the car, and sent to a lab, which confirmed mold in the car. He doesn't believe that mold can make anyone sick, in spite of the new sinus-mold test that I talked his doctor into being the second doctor in New York City to use, to give to my dad, that showed mold in his mucous. My dad doesn't believe in mold. He uses his car less than one hour a day, only four days a week. Do YOU still believe that we should " ...learn to get along with a little bit of mold " ? > 1.) No one knows for sure whether small exposure > are harmful or not, or whether extreme avoidance > is the best way to handle mold exposure. May be true, may not be > true. Noone knows for sure.
