Guest guest
Hi everyone, My name is Lammert and my e-mail address is l_lammert@.... I reside in Peoria County, Illinois with my husband and a Siamese cat. I am a raw milk consumer and am fortunate that I live in a state where raw milk sale is legal, if you provide your own container for the milk and go to the place where milk is available. Before I started drinking raw milk, I was never a big milk drinker. The only time I drank milk was in eating cereal, oatmeal, or when I ate a piece of cake or cookies. Since I gave up sweets in general, I was hardy drinking milk at all. When I read about the health benefits of raw milk and found out that I could get some raw milk, I started purchasing and drinking a gallon of raw milk weekly in September of 2007. There is nothing that taste better than a glass of fresh raw milk. Because I am the only one in the family that drinks the milk, I also make yogurt from raw milk and made butter whenever the cream is abundant in the milk. In the beginning, I didn't know if a gallon of milk was going to be too much for me but since I use part of the milk to make other foods, I find that I could use more than a gallon a week at times. I have also tried making my own cheese from raw milk and will probably continue to pursue this avenue to perfect the consistency and taste of cheese made with raw milk. How did I find out about raw milk and where I can get it? Well, in talking with a circle of people I know who are into healthy life style and organic foods, one of the girls that sell organic cosmetics told me about a farmer who raises organic beef for sale and where I could get raw milk. I knew this information was coming to me at the right time because my interest in raw milk was picking up speed after reading articles on raw milk. I am forever grateful for the circle of friends I have developed from attending health expos. I am looking forward to being a member of the raw dairy group and hope to participate in some of the group discussion. Lammert
