Guest guest
> > So, could we all give Dr. Cheney a break here. Thank you Betty, for saying better than I could myself how I feel about these attacks. I am in a fragile condition, and these posts are throwing me into chest pain. I have sat here for years listening to one false attack on Dr. Cheney after another, but now at a time when he is struggling for his own health, I can no longer sit here and take it. Enough is enough. As for his his not looking at a person's chart, totally untrue, but he has his own health issues right now, and his cognitive abilities are a bit compromised in short term memory...surely you can all relate to that...but I would take Dr. Cheney with half his brain tied behind his back than anyone else on the planet with a full brain. Like Donna said, he is improving and he will be back again with his memory. As Betty stated, he tells some of his long term patients things he does not tell every patient, and IF you only knew what some of us know, you would not be leveling these charges, you would be ashamed to even have thought such things and you would be in awe of the character and integrity of this man. When I saw my internist the other day for 15 minutes and got the bill, the cost is no more, you just do not have doctors that spend hours with you. But that is the only way Dr. Cheney feels he can do the right thing for his patients, if that style does not suit you, no one forces you to go. Dr. Cheney is making no more than the average internist makes in a year. As to the time he spends with a patient which keeps him from seeing as many a day, he realized a long ago he could never see all the patients who wanted to see him, so he had the choice of cramming lots of patients in or doing it in a way that he could better serve the patients he did have as well as provide inroads into research in hopes of finding something that would help ALL DFIDS patients. He really has thought about this a lot. Dr. Cheney has to have one of the highest codes of integrity of anyone I have EVER known. And besides being a brialliant doctor and researcher, he really cares. He not only cares, but he passionately cares. He thinks about this illness every waking hour, and he cares about his patients. I hope the moderator stops these attacks if they do not stop on their own. It needs to stop because this is rumor and speculation and is totally untrue and borders on libel if not libel. I know a researcher on the Net that would be laying a lawsuit on you unless you publicly restracted these false statements, but Dr. Cheney would never do that. But please, if for no other reason but out of respect of those of us who know Dr. Cheney and care about him and know these statements are not true, please stop. Guest guest
Hello, I saw a couple of posts with information related to Dr. Cheney recently. I can't seem to find them now. This site is acting strange. Anyway, I am a Cheney patient FWIW. As to the PFO, hole in the heart, there seems to be a very high incidence of this in Cheney patients. Many times higher than normal. The PFO can cause a lot of problems, but it not THE problem. The PFO is just a manifestation of whatever THE problem is: Mold?, Monsanto?, Perchlorates?, The CIA? Death Rays from Mars? Who knows? Probably it is somekind of mitochondrial/energy problem in most patients. As to the fingerprint distruction. On biopsy, the skin is seen to be infiltrated with mast cells. Probably proteases are attacking the collagen in the skin commisurate with the mast cell infiltration. All this is a non-specific indicator of immune upregulation. As a Cheney patient, I wish he could pay more attention to mold related issues. But, he can't do EVERYTHING ! In the end, I would prefer he is doing just what he is, because he does it very well. And the information generated is the best that science has to offer. It does a lot to advance the cases of people with CFS/MCS, and other similar ill defined maladies. In other words, it is difficult for the CDC/NIH, etc. to blow this stuff off, because it is done using the very best methods that they agree with, and taken straight from the textbooks of physiology. Too, it allows other good researchers to follow on, and find cross- connectivity with their own good work. MCS,CFS,FM, Biotoxins, etc. are bigger than any one person. This takes a concerted effort, with each one producing the very best they can, IMHO, including the good work people are doing on this site. I guess it all could be exciting, if it weren't so tragic.
