If you don't want to read the novel-length post, you can scroll all

the way down and there are pictures there of just the red cast.

Much love to you and Max,

Sammy complained of itching with one of her casts and we gave her some benadryl

before bedtime to help with it. We also ran a humidifier in her room--it was

winter so we thought the dry air might have been the culprit--whichever it was

it worked.

,

Thank you for the information. He seems to be doing okay with his

stomach, however he keeps complaining about his back being itchy. I

just came back from the grocery store today and he was crying in the

cart with 2 cookies in his hand screaming itchy and leaning forward.

He never soes this especially with TWO cookies. He tries to reach

for his back and obviously can't. He kept saying " home " . After some

distraction he did better. I am very concerned that when they

trimmed the cast some fibers may have gone down his back. I tried

the low dryer on cool, but it still doesn't seem to help.

Fortunately he sleeps on his stomach and sleeps well. It's when he

has to sit up against something like a car seat or his booster seat

at the dining table when he complains the most.

A good thing I did notice is he has no rubbing of the cast

anywhere. If it wasn't the itching, this would've been the best

cast ever!

Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions on this? This has

never happened to him in the previous 6 casts.

Thanks for everyones help,

Aekta

I read your whole blog too, and cried.

I can FEEL your emotion. We've been there and done that, we're at the end of

our journey. Evan's tolerating his brace well and I'm hoping he'll be out w/in

the year.

Just know it does get easier and know it is worth it for jacks correction...

Hugs,

and Evan

Hi ,

Cree, Dr. Sturm's nurse, recommended Benadryl when I talked to

her this morning also. He hasn't complained isnce 4 am this morning,

so I'm hoping we're in the clear.

Crossing my fingers!

Sandi,

Thank you for sharing the photos of Jack. Your site is fantastic.

How's Jack adjusting?

Max's shirt was not cut around the holes, which I wish it was,

especially in this heat. It was the first time Chicago did not cut

the shirt. But the nurses pedaling Max seemed very confused. All in

all, Max is doing well. No complaints of itching since 4 am and he

sis awesome at daycare today. So, I hope we're in the clear and it

just took him much longer to adjust. It is just worrisome.

I wanted to let you know, Max learned to walk in his cast and climb.

He was Challenged a great deal with his first cast, but adjusted

great. They are just amazing.

I post Max's next appointment date on monday when I get clearance

from work. I can get off really easy, but I'd prefer not to come

with a pile of work on my desk if at all preventable. I'm gearing

more towards 9/21.

Thank you again,

Aekta
