I use a ten percent bleach solution and spray it into the coils. If I

were to be exposed to it I would rinse them thoroughly because of the

fumes. So you would have to have the same consideration for your pets

obviously. I have found after running a few hours the smell goes away

because the condensate washes the bleach off.
