Guest guest
We can use our online petition as a valuable tool in this fight if we can get the number of signatures that convey the reality. Besides Washington, we can send it to The New York Times, Oprah, etc. Does anyone have any ideas on getting the word out to others outside this group? Can anyone help me promote it? http://www.petitiononline.com/canaries/petition.html Sue
Guest guest
I am very sad in regards to the lack in numbers of signatures on this petition. Are we all going to stand here and do nothing while our health continues to decline? I am sick of being sick. My health has so declined to this point, and being forced to stay in this toxic house because the government won't do anything to help me get out. How many of us does it take to actually die from our illnesses and then once the autopsy report reveals our death was caused from mold/mycotoxins then maybe they will listen. If we don't speak up now, nothing will be done. There are over 1000 members on this board, so why only 118 signatures, we really should be ashamed. People do you get it.........We need numbers numbers numbers of people that are ill to write in. If we don't help ourselves no one is going to listen. It is taking me alot to post this because just since the last conference call my health has deteriorated very much, so that the doctor states I can go into anaphalatic shock at any time. Is this were we want to be........I don't want to die. I am still a young 50, I should have many more years with a happy and healthy life...but I wont due to this illness. Why should we wait til we are almost dead to fight for our rights...fight against these non believers....ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.......my moto: " IF I CANNOT DO GREAT THINGS, I CAN DO SMALL THINGS IN A GREAT WAY " !!!!!!!! I feel small things like writing a letter or signing a petition yes are small things, but on the other hand they are GREAT THINGS IF DONE IN NUMBERS.........Darlene Sue ston <thecanaries@...> wrote: We can use our online petition as a valuable tool in this fight if we can get the number of signatures that convey the reality. Guest guest
These petitions are becoming so common, I think you would need to get a tremendous number of signatures to get noticed and I don't know we have enough of a network of mold victims YET. However of course sent it to Aspergillus group, IEQ group and ask them to forward it to other victims. You could also ask people who run websites on fungus, such as mold-survivors, etc to put a link to petition that 'visitors' so visitors can sign. --- Sue ston <thecanaries@...> wrote: > We can use our online petition as a valuable > tool in this fight if we can get the number of >
Guest guest
Sue--We would have a better change with Jerry Springer. OPRAH has forgotten the common good. I am looking at her magazine right now and the clothes are so expensive and so is everything else in there. Guest guest
You've made a couple of good points Barb, we need everyones help here. Any groups, family members, friends, etc., please forward the petition link on. There are even many that I speak with that for some reason never have joined this group, but are very much aware of it. Many that have been involved for 10-15 years still suffer, but yet they have completely disappeared and I only hear from them every now and then. Guest guest
I am hoping the petition can promote a network, coming together to be counted as evidence that there are many of us; and that not only are we ill, but we have suffered major losses - jobs, homes, etc. The petition format seems an efficient way to do that. Thanks to all who are helping to promote it. I have emailed quite a few other groups too!
Guest guest
I think that the powers that be, as it were, probably laugh at petitions as they don't carry any force of real action behind them. In China, Beijing is filled with petitioners who trudge around from government building to government building, presenting petitions to people in windows whose main function is to take them. They don't change anything. Increasingly, the same is true here. The thing they hate is things that will hurt their income stream from lobbyists.. etc. Politicians also really don't like anything that embarasses them on a massive scale. Media attention to issues that makes it clear that they are NOT doing what they are supposed to do. Petitions are usually only signed by the already converted.. they don't represent people CHANGING their opinions so much as people who already have them... Not that they are useless. But I don't think that they are as good a use of time or energy as indiviual letters and especially, media-savvy action.. (Things that can get your story on the evening news, especially) The key word to that is understanding 'hooks', activists have told me.. And understanding how reporters gather news..
