Guest guest
- I am only on 10 mg of prednisone at the moment. But that could change anytime. I have been trying to wean off 10mg for it seems forever, but I think it has been at least 2 years. I get down to like 4mg and something happens and I have to go right back up. Bummer!!! That is good that you trust your Doctor and it means alot that he has other Stills patients. It makes you feel like he knows what he is taking about when it comes to medication, etc. You should of course always trust your Dr. That is kinda what I was saying in an email to Mandi ( you might want to take a look at it) But you know what we all get different info from our Dr.s and our Dr.s have their own way of doing things. And what works for him might not work for another Dr's patient. So It is good that not all Dr think the same. I live in Riverside County, which is pretty big, I am not sure what the population is. But I actually go to Orange County to my Dr.s You probably have heard of the OC. The are making TV shows about the city, considering it is right by the beach. The Rheumy that diagnosed me at UCLA had diagnosed 5 other cases in Stills. I don't know over what period. If I lived closer I would definitely be going back to her. She really knows what she is doing. Yea that is a good idea to give the Dr. brochures about our support group to give to the other Stills patients. Well- Good luck on weaning off your prednisone. Hope you having a painfree night. Love and Support, Keri in CA Re: -splitting prednisone Hi Keri, it is interesting. Maybe that's just how he wants me to handle it. I got the impression that he felt that way in general. However, it does seem that you'd want the least dose possible, doing the most it can to the body (therefore splitting the doses would make sense). I think you're on a smaller dose than I am aren't you? I'm on 27.5...heading down to 25 today. I don't know...I have faith in my Dr. and will not split the doses for now. He's very young, but his mentor was a Still's specialist.. and he really reads a lot and worries about my case. So I'm sticking with him. That's incredible to me that your doctor also has 3 other patients. Are you in a big town? Cleveland Clinic only sees about 20 Still's patients a year...and they see them from all over the nation. Have you gotten to meet any of the other patients? I forgot to tell my Dr to give the others here in SA my number in case they wanted to talk or get together. It would be nice to have someone close by who understands. Well...I sure am rambling this morning. Better have some more coffee and clear the fog. Have a great day! in TX
