Jane Hi Janel, go to " " and click on " files " . I added a excel file up there that is interactive and you can use while onlie or save it to your computer if you use excell. It's an xls file. Great way to figure out your formulas or check them to see what the oils you are using will do. The lower the iodine factor the harder your bar will be, with the exception of Castor Oil which has a low idodine factor, but will make your bar softer. hth in Cambridge

Guest guest
Thanks ! However, your 5-page oil properties charts are much cloer than what I'm looking for than the Excel spreadsheet. I already have all the info concerning soap, I'm looking for information for lotions and other emulsions. Now if someone can just explain to me the workings of the different acids with regard to emulsions - eleic, linolenic, etc. MJ
Guest guest
Good skin oils are grapeseed, rosehips seed oil, emu, evening primrose, avocado, shea, hemp, ilipe and flax. You will need to try them in different combinations to find the ones you like best.
