Today I could hardly wait to get home I was so fatigued in afternoon and when I got home, found the mold count was 6732!! 4400 Cladosporum, which I have very high antibodies too in blood way back in June. Anyway, a friend of mine wanted to find out mold count in his area and we couldn't find anywhere to get it. He lives in New York City, New York County, zip code 10022. Does anyone know where one can get mold counts for different areas? EPA offers almost everything but mold count I notice. However I do have a link to mold count in my area from county I live in but can't find out where to find counts in other areas. Does anyone have a link to find mold counts of other areas?? Guest guest
Barb, Be sure to find out WHEN the counts are TAKEN, not just when they are REPORTED. They are usually reported the day after they are taken. If they are reported the same day then find out when during the day they were taken. Can they report results within a couple of hours or will the afternoon report be for the morning count? There is always a time lag. There's been discussion here recently about how the time of day changes the mold counts. Guest guest
I've noticed that the U.S. Mold Map keeps changing so SOMEBODY is keeping count...just not giving the numbers out. <http://www.weather.com/maps/activity/allergies/usmoldspores_large.html > > > Weather.com has a lot of allergen info and does have some mold info - there is not a specific link you just have to keep clicking around until you find it. > > Lori
Guest guest
Those predictions are for *outdoor* mold levels you know.. . Also, even if they could predict indoor mold conditions it seems as if they would be rendered much less useful than many would think by the fact that different species of molds sporulate under different conditions of temp, humidity and nutrients.. Guest guest
Hi all, I live near NYC and I know we have always had the pollen and mold count provided by local hospitals. Now that you mention it Barb, I haven't seen it lately. I wonder what happened? It's interesting- I was able to find a mold level at www.weather.com- look under the health tab-
