Guest guest
I think I found the mold. I believe there is mold on our bedroom on the radiator, which I remembered had been leaking over the winter but at the time it was so dry I didn't think much of it. I am going to try to get a sample and send it to Texas Tech for testing. We have two radiators and the other one seems to have dust but not mold. I know this may be naive but I am hopeful perhaps if the radiator is replaced that we won't have to move, since I have not been able to find mold anywhere else. I realize mold spores are microscopic and in the air (especially if they are what's making me sick, which I don't know for sure) but I'm hoping this is somewhat contained. My doc is also going to run an allergy panel on my blood -- think it must be the ELISA -- and see if mold is particulary high right now. He'll also check and see if the cat could be bothering me, although I don't think I would get joint pain from a cat allergy but who knows. I would like to get this cleaned as soon as possible, obviously -- but what is the best way to do it? Should we try to clean it ourselves? Should we have the building come and do it? The radiator probably should just be removed and replaced. But if it is cleaned first (like as we are waiting for the tests to come back and/or the radiator to be removed and replaced, which may take a while) how do you clean it with less chance of mold going into the air from the cleaning itself??? I would also like the building to check under the floor boards where the radiator is. I don't know if the building will remove the radiator until we get tests back showing that it IS mold, so should I just sleep in the living room or somewhere else while I wait for the tests to come back? I don't think I can sleep away from here every night but some nights I could. Thanks for everything! Lori
Guest guest
P.S. the HEPA filter does seem to be helping. The air just feels lighter. Lori
