Guest guest
nne, Melons are not off limits. Canteloupe has very poroused skin that mold can cling to and grow on very easily. If you look at canteloupe skin you can see the mold on many. Dr told me nothing is wrong with canteloup itself. You can buy it and have it at home but don't buy it already cut up or eat it out. If skin is not washed VERY, VERY well, knife just drags the mold through the fruit and if in a fruit salad and contaminate the other fruits it is in with. He said wash the canteloups skin VERY well, scrub it clean. Then he said to peel the skin off and rinse canteloup with peel gone again very well and then cut it up. Not a problem with watermelon, honeydew, etc, those with smooth skin. Although I wash their skin now too but in case they were up against canteloupe or put in bin that just before contained canteloupe. --- roxygardens <Roxygardens@...> wrote: > Goodness, I thought only canteloupes were off > limits. Guest guest
well, my fevers got the best of me last night and i went to bed with extra blankets and sweated it out, i do fell better today but my urinary tract infection isn't much better which supprized me, it's hanging in there, and I drank a bunch of gatoraide last night. the pain is pretty bad. so if I can get ahold of her I am going to have her pick me up some fresh garlic too and just eat it raw. lol's yummy, fresh garlic and watermellon. hope this works. > > > Goodness, I thought only canteloupes were off > > limits. Guest guest
I've been eating lots of melon and other fruit too. Gotta get it when the getting is good. I'm freezing some for later. I've discovered I like eating frozen fruit so freq don't bother to actually dethaw it. Sometimes into blender for frozen fruit slush...refreshing! I also discovered I like nuts frozen. It keeps them from going rancid and they don't freeze too hard to eat. It just makes them crunchier. Of course you are supposed to soak nuts with vit c or other way to demold and detoxify them. I don't like them much after they are soaked so I don't eat them as much anymore. --- roxygardens <Roxygardens@...> wrote: > ---Thanks Barb!
