Guest guest
Hi Leigh, I've been looking into that. I didn't know he recommended it. I have fresh air intake that works wonderfully in the winter, dragging in dry cool fresh air into furnace which warms it up before distributing it through house. However in summer I have to shut it off as my air conditioning system is not able to keep up with the humidity it brings in. I have to get a separate dehumidifier that I can duct the fresh air intake into to dry air before letting it go to rest of house. Therma Stor sells one but there are different models and it isn't that easy to figure out how to install it and have damper work properly so kind of stalled out on project right now. I have printed out all the information and trying to read through it and understand it. I will have it professionally installed though. It's getting so late in summer, I may plan it out and have it installed next spring. --- Leigh McCall-Alton <mccallalton@...> wrote: > You could put a fresh air exchanger on it and > create positive pressure. Guest guest
They can't usually differentiate between aspergillus/penicillium species in tape lifts but sometimes in cultured samples, they can, but its not consistant. Quite a few aspergillus species and many penicillum species have known mycotoxins, but I am not an expert on any aspect of this. Just a fellow knowledge seeker. I was just trying to say that for you to imply that a test that said asp/pen on it meant you didn't have a problem was like saying you 'only' had a positive test that implied one kind of cancer instead of another.. There is an " aspergillus website " in the UK that has lots and lots of information on the various medical issues caused by aspergillus, its worth checking out. Do a Google on " aspergillius website " Aspergillus species and toxins are known killers. Various health issues for asp. kill more people than any other mold as far as we know. And that is NOT a subject of controversy like the political minefield over stachybotrys in the US, its a known, agreed upon fact.
Guest guest
Hi Live Simply, I see. I know how serious aspergillus is. I belong to aspergillus group. I did think that all aspergillus produced toxins though, so that is new to me. It just seems to me that aspergillus is everywhere. All one can do is keep down the numbers. So you are saying some types of trouble and some aren't. I'm going to try to clean it up no matter what kind it is. You mean I could be in a location or home without any bad aspergillus or any toxic species of mold? I didn't think that was possible. I must have toxic stuff around house, since I have it in urine. Workplace has never bothered me, problem has been at home. --- LiveSimply <quackadillian@...> wrote: Quite a few aspergillus species and many > penicillum species have known > mycotoxins, but I am not an expert on any > aspect of this. Guest guest
, Just because you didn't have that most instant of responses doesn't mean that it can't be dangerous or even very dangerous. I think you are putting FAR too much faith in this sixth sense of yours. Honestly.. There are kinds of mold exposure that I can sail safely through, feeling nothing at all, but then, starting around six hours later, I start getting really sick.. for days.. Those are the ones that build up in you... If it wasn't for CSM I would be a basket case due to them.. Mold is invisible. There are lots of other bad things associated with moldy places. They can make you very sick later on.. Best to just avoid ALL of them unless you know from experience that they are not effecting you.. (like beer, cheese.. etc. i.e. the beneficial molds...) At least that is my $0.02. You don't have to listen to me...
Guest guest
Every time I drink a beer my right ear burns bright red. Thats my mold detector. Too much yeast and hops in beer. Janet
Guest guest
Oh wow, beer and cheese, sounds so good, but then I didn't have lunch. Do you think beer is safe to consume? I love beer! My ex husband said it wasn't ladylike to drink beer but then I read it was Grace 's favorite drink. I thought it was full of myctoxins. --- LiveSimply <quackadillian@...> wrote: Best to just > avoid ALL of them unless you know from > experience that they are not > effecting you..
