Guest guest
Thanks for the info. For the first year or so I was given Zithromax, and for the past 3 or so years, I have been given Bactrim just about every month for either Bronchitis, Sinusitis, Rhinitis, or as the doctor put it, another " URI " Upper Respiratory Infection. And every once in a while when I get an attack of Diverticulitis, I'm also put on Bactrim along with Flagyl. Guest guest
Hi Barb E, I would think that would mean that the wrong anti-micrbial is being used, to need them that long. Where do you live? Has he/she never tested or treated for fungus? Did you have the divercultitis before you had the upper respiratory or the other way around? Here is what Mayo has on that: http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/diverticulitis/DS00070 --- Barbara <floridabound03200@...> wrote: > Thanks for the info. > > For the first year or so I was given Zithromax, > and > for the past 3 or so years, I have been given > Bactrim > just about every month for either Bronchitis, > Sinusitis, Rhinitis, or as the doctor put it, > another > " URI " Upper Respiratory Infection. > > And every once in a while when I get an attack > of > Diverticulitis, I'm also put on Bactrim along > with > Flagyl. > > Barb E. > > --- bbw <barb1283@...> wrote: > > > Hi Barb E, > > I'm not Carl but taking an antibiotic if you > have > > a fungal infection, can help the fungal > infection > > become worse if it is in your digestive tract > due > > to killing off beneficial bacteria that line > your > > GI tract and protect it from bad bacteria, > fungus > > and Candidas. > > If fungus or Candida is not GI tract, it may > not > > have hurt you, especially if the fungal > infection > > compromised your immune system and made you > > susceptible to other infections. Guest guest
Barb E, If you have been treated that long with antibiotics, I doubt that you can digest anything properly as all your beneficial bacteria, that help you break food down and absorb nutrients would be gone and you would get Candida in it's place or other fungus hanging around. Without proper nutrition, your whole health picture goes down. If it is right anti-biotic for right micro, you shouldn't have needed to take it for long. Sounds like it was fungus since Z pak is very strong, wide spectrum antibiotic. Should have knocked something that was bacterial out in a week or so. --- Barbara <floridabound03200@...> wrote: > Thanks for the info. > > For the first year or so I was given Zithromax, > and > for
