Guest guest
Hi Donna! I'm catching up on email and saw my name in this! :-) Thanks for thinking about me, yes I do like uncomplicated choreography. Was thinking about trying out some Gilad stuff from netflix and was wondering how I'd like it, at least I have a clue with this one, thanks, I will check it out! Friday - Vintage Gilad Hi Everyone,Well, I sorta wrapped up my SS/SS EX rotation with ahuge fizzle this week. I missed days due to our poweroutage and just general lack of motivation. I didn'tfeel like doing Tear It Up today so I did a vintageGilad workout - his 45/45 Split Routine which is theDVD version of his Fat Burning Workout and ToningWorkout - both are from 1990 (hard to believe, butthat was 17 years ago! YIKES!) The Fat Burning routine is standard hi/lo athleticstyle choreogprahy. The body of the workout is 30minutes plus there is a warm-up of 5-10 min and a cooldown stretch of about 5 min. The choreography, as Isaid is basic and does not take up a huge amount ofspace. As I was doing this I was thinking that itwould be a great workout for who doesn't enjoycomplex steps AND it would be a great one to do on therebounder - as very minor mods would be needed sincethe area taken up by this workout would easily fit onthe rebounder. Also made me thinkg that I should getmy rebounder set up - I'm only hesitating because ofDD - I just don't trust her with it yet. Still, I'mgoing to hold on to the thing b/c I don't think thatTarget is carrying it anymore. I may still set it upin the near future and just store it on its side soshe won't be tempted to use it without me tosupervise. The intensity of this workout is about intermediate -I didn't work up a huge sweat, but I did feel like Iaccomplished something.A nice plus of this workout is Gilad himself and theoutdoor beach scene. The toning workout contains some good old-fashionedexercises, squats, lunges, traditional floorwork, absand uppper body. No weights are used, but theycertainly can be added to the moves to increase theirintensity. No weights are even used for the upperbody portion which is a bit strange to do bicep curlswithout weights! however, some of the upper bodymoves do burn even without weights - sort of likeClassical Stretch and T-Tapp. I did feel silly thoughw/out weights for biceps! Next time I would probablyadd some weights to this workout to up the intensity. This DVD is well chaptered - both in terms of beingable to jump to either the cardio or strength routineand to jump within chapters of each routine. Definately a good use of DVD technology!Again, this workout wasn't killer in intensity, but Ifelt good to at least have done something! I'd giveit an intermediate rating and say you can up it tointer/adv if you add weights and ankle weightsappropriate to your strength. The cool down on the toning workout is nice as ittakes place at sunset!Overall a good workout for a moderate type day!Take care,DonnaP.S. Thanks to Kathy for sending this one my way!__________________________________________________________Boardwalk for $500? In 2007? Ha!
