The Battalion

College Station, Texas

The area of the Halbouty Geosciences building that faces Ross

Street has closed after mold was found above the ceiling tiles, said

officials from the Environmental Health and Safety Department.

The building proctor noticed mold when he was looking at the

ceiling, said Salsman, director of the Environment Health and

Safety Department.

Initial tests determined mold levels were normal in most of the

building, but that the area where the mold was seen required more

tests, Salsman said.

The building will remain closed until further tests are run to

determine whether the building is safe, he said.
