Guest guest
For those of you being treated by Dr. Shoemaker, were you able to get Procrit preapproved by your insurance companies? I know it can be fairly expensive out of pocket (one drug store quoted me $3000 for 5 doses of 8000 units!-- which was 10x4000 since it doesn't come in a 8000 unit vial) If so, what was the magic medical term that your doctor had to use? Dr. Shoemaker's office wouldn't even get into the preapproval process saying " they aren't going to approve because it's an off-label use " . So they wouldn't even call for me. Since I'm in AZ (for now), I can always make a run to Mexico if all of the drug stores in the area keep coming up with those prices. Thanks!
