Saint Louis University School of Public Health plans to create

universal standards for getting rid of mold in homes and buildings

through a $408,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and

Urban Development.

By surveying about 400 mold assessment and remediation

professionals, the project's principal investigator, Anu Dixit, said

in a statement that the team would review existing and inconsistent

guidelines for mold removal from homes and buildings.

Dixit is an assistant professor of environmental and occupational

health at SLU's School of Public Health.

The team will use the survey responses to develop a comprehensive

plan for homeowners and mold remediation experts to follow.

Saint Louis University is a Jesuit, Catholic university in St.

Louis. Saint Louis University School of Public Health is one of only

37 fully accredited schools of public health in the United States.
