Guest guest
I never knew she had huge water intrusion problems. Pipes leaking under house and knee deep water at times. Geez.............But she doesn't want to really hear what I'm telling her. She has seen what my outcome is but she always thinks nothing can happen to her. She doesn't have allergies. Ha Ha.....you know.... I told her if she gets a new air handler and air ducts it will just get mold in it eventually if not water proofed ETC. She also does not get the CLOSE the vents in crawl space to not let more humidity in. Building codes here in NC suppose to have been changed b/c they now know open vents let in heat and humidity that causes condensation which leads to MOLD. She says she's ask some building contractors and they know nothing about this. Not sure when the Code will be enforced. I've always known that adds to the flame and had arguments with my dad about it. Well, now he gets it. Told her also that she needs mold remediation whether she thinks it's hurting her or not b/c it will keep growing and growing, monster... They might have it worse than mine was. Will update later on my sister's case but she's not going to listen. She said why bother about the mold when they aren't affected by it. I told her mold is sneaky and she may get health problems she doesn't even relate that mycotoxins caused it. They have money so why not waterproof like I did and mold remediate then get new ducts and airhandler. Gross, and I have to visit there sometimes..... I told her I thought insurance would help them b/c of a pipe leaking and this has been going on for a long time and I didn't know about it. Guess I have them thinking a bit now but they still think they can't be affected by it. My sis is thinking about it more than her husband. He said he's not worrying about it but sis is calling hvac people and asking me what to do. Can I be the only one in the family that gets poisoned by mycotoxins??? That would be strange but can happen. No word from tape testing from my work place yet. Rhonda
Guest guest
Talked to my sister today and she was wondering about having new carpet put in house if they had the ducts/air handler replaced. I told her she needs to close all vents and wrap in plastic as I was told t do and use painters tape and do the return grill too while any work being done in crawlspace. She had asked her husband about this and he just responded like she was crazy. She's listening some but not enough. They had the pipe leaks fixed and now they plan to let the crawl space dry out then have the air handler and ducts looked at. She said some of her metal air vents inside are rusted so that says a lot. Mine weren't even rusted but I replaced all of them. She plans to replace all hers too. She also said today that " I think the MOLD has done this to me " so she still doesn't really get it. I KNOW the MOLD gave me neuro/health problems and very in my face obvious. I still can't believe how people live in denial. I have tried to educate them about mold and what it can do. Told her it can be a silent killer and people don't even connect when they get health issues that mold/mycotoxins caused it. From what she has told me, they have to have mold and I'm sure the air handler and ducts are contaminated. All family members may not be affected but if I have the genetics to be poisoned then so could some of them. I told her animals are affected also and they have animals. I think I have her thinking more but her husband doesn't get it at all. He also is in the fire sprinklers business so he thinks he knows about water. I told her they have to pull up the plastic vapor barrier to let the dirt dry out. Strange they had this problem and I never heard much about it. I told her if the ducts are replaced to not let them drag the new ones across the yard like my hvac guy did. She thought that extreme but if you drag across wet grass and get dirt on them that sets up for the ducts to start growing mold on them. I doubt they will ever shut the crawl space vents. I think I should just stop giving advice and they think nothing can ever happen to them from mold. Will post when air handler is checked out at my sister's house. They have lived there for 18 years with this pipe leaking problem starting year one I've been told. Some kind of faulty pipes that were recalled. Told her again to call and check in to an insurance claim but they won't even do that and pipe leaks are covered. They think the insurance company will drop them which is stupid b/c they haven't ever filed a homeowners claim. I know my brother-in-law is telling my sis to stop talking to me. If they leave any mold in crawl space, just going to infect the new air handler/ducts. Sis says " We don't even know if we have mold " . How could they not have mold with all that water.... She also told me today that I need to get out of my work place before it drives me INSANE. Like not for health reasons and it's all in my head...
