Guest guest
The North Texas Autism Education Center & Lone Star Learning Center invite you to join us for the 2nd Annual March for Respect! Our non- profit organization is among many hosting agencies to support the Developmental Disabilities Network of North Texas in this event. www.marchforrespect.org is the official website for the event and has all the complete information about the day of the event. Date: Saturday, March 27, 2004 Time: 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. (Registration, Rally, March, Information Fair, Family Fun Activities) Place: Dallas West End (the 'march' is a one-mile walk) The March For Respect is an incredible event to raise awareness of the need for greater respect for people who have developmental disabilities. This event is not about raising money. It is about raising awareness and support for people who have developmental disabilities. It is about realizing that each of us has our own unique gifts, our own hopes and dreams, and how we are all contributing members of our community. It is about lifting spirits. Autism is now the fastest-growing developmental disability. Show your Respect for people with autism by joining us at the March! Participation is FREE! Bring your friends and family. Most importantly, bring yourself. Last year, more than 3,000 people rallied together during the 1st March for Respect. Our organization will participate in both the March and the Information Fair. At our Information Fair table, we will try to have as much information as possible on local and national autism resources to give to our community. If you would like to join our organization's team on the day of the event, you can pre-register online at www.marchforrespect.org. Go to 'Register', then 'Register Online'; then under 'Team Leader' - choose " North Texas Autism Education Center - Kim " . The organization who attends with the most pre-registered participants will receive $1,000. If our organization should get this honor, all of the proceeds will go towards training parents and professionals in our community to help children with autism reach their highest potential. If you have trouble pre-registering online, you can email me the appropriate information: Name: Address: City, State, Zip: Email: *Adult T-shirt size (S, M, L, XL, XXL): *T-shirts cost $10 and can be pre-ordered online or through us in advance and we will pick them up the week before the March. A limited number of shirts will be available for sale the day of the event. We have extra brochures and posters to promote the March if anyone would like to use them. We hope you will join us on this special day in raising awareness and support for people who have developmental disabilities!
