Guest guest
Ha! I know about stares, and you may get used to them where you don't even notice anymore.. my dad has had osteoporosis as long as I can remember and people would always point and stare wherever we'd go and say look at the hunchback! for the most part they are just curious and don't mean any harm...It seems I would just assume it was a bicycle helmet or something like that and the kid likes to wear it and it's not worth the fight telling him/her no! ; ) diane Dawn wrote: > BelindaIt makes me mad too when you catch someone staring and whispering. Iwould much rather them come up and ask instead of trying to assume. I think youd be doing the right thing by contacting the manager. Guest guest
Hi Everyone The reason people look and stare is that they are uneducated on the problem. I prospose a national rally day where we go to our local city hall with posters to inform the public of this Great American Tragedy that is taking place all across America. We could rally across America on the same day, at the same time. It takes all of us coming together to stop this lie. The " Back to Sleep " brochure states that there are " no other problems " other than possible choking on spit. This is a lie. We must set the record straight. I love babies and it pains me to think the American Academy of Pediatrics can let this continue. How could I trust them? Just look at their track record. I should have known. They recommended circumcision (sp?). Now they recommend back sleeping. They don't know what they are doing. They make me sick. We must rally peacefully. We must inform the public. No one else is doing it. No one else will do it. Do you care about babies? Do you want to see this lie continue? I have nothing against bringing the SIDS rate down. But let's not lie about the side effects of backing sleeping. Judy
Guest guest
I am new here Judy but I agree 100% that is what CAPS is starting to do and I have talked with and and hope to have all of you join our campaign to help better inform the doctors out there. That is why I am here to better understand what brought all of you to this point and if the doctors were helpful or not? Thanks Pitchke -----Original Message-----From: rmissirian@... Guest guest
today we started playing baseball.both of the boys had games so livie spent ALOT of time at the park today.lots of stares, lots of whispering, lots of comments.it's hard because i'm not her mom and i grew up in the same town i live in now.so all the kids i went to school with have kids who go to school with my kids.my sister lives in the same town(that's livie's mom) so everyone knows what happened and us having custody.so olivia gets stares not only for her helmet but for her reason for being with us.i've found that if i explain to the little kids (ages 3-4) that she wears this hat to help round out her head and that they can touch it if they want they seem more comfortable with it and her.she just smiles and babbles at the kids and doesn't know any different.lucky little girl.one of the mom's was listening as i explained her story to her daughter and said that she thought i did a good job explaining olivia's reason for wearing the helmet and the mom is going to nursing school.i'm sure she'll mention it monday morning in school(the mom that is...). thanks for listening. lynne
Guest guest
Hey Lynne- You've got a lot on your plate, don't you. Trust in the fact Livie doesn't give one hoot about anyone staring at her. She probably is overjoyed at all the attention she's receiving. That poor baby needs so much loving right now. I hope the people around you realize that. I have noticed that once you respond to the kids' comments and questions (because they are oftentimes the ones to approach you), the parent's will come up and start talking and asking. Sometimes under the guise of "teaching" their child. As soon as the kids and parents see you talking about it like it's "no big deal" and see that it doesn't hurt the baby, they really loosen up and get down to the business of admiring the baby underneath the helmet!
