Guest guest Posted May 14, 2004 Report Posted May 14, 2004 Dear Representative Crabb, I am concerned about the following information that appeared on the Autism Treatment listserve on Groups. It is in regard to comments reportedly made by Noe of the Governors Board on Disability. I would appreciate your office's reply as to whether this is accurate or not as I know Noe was reported to have made similar controversial remarks upon initial appointment by Gov. . I appreciate any information you may be able to provide. Sincerely, Hill Sostack, Kingwood, Texas. I am not sure what the correct title is of the Board. This person ( I don't know if he chaired the meeting or who he is) said that the disabled shouldn't receive any services they should be put in state homes where they belong. She said this after she told my daughter she is in the wrong state to get good services for her son because people in Texas are disgusted by people with disabilities. This woman has been around awhile and is privy to information we aren't, she has a Phd. I am sharing this because I am hoping someone else might know about this or know how to find out. Are the minutes public information? Can we get access to them? This is the Governor's Board. They cut off support from adults with disabilities last year and drastically cut the In Home and Family Services that effect most of us, and precedents are being set. We can't just sit back and do nothing and we all here in Texas who have children with autism need to be very concerned and take action. Anyone who can point is in the right direction to accomplish this please please speak up. XXXX Quote
