Hi C2. I do suffer from TMJ. Have for years, but I have noticed that it does tend to get more painful or sore when I am not feeling well due to the Stills. My jaw gets tired easy sometimes when eating. A few years ago, I did have a splint or night guard to wear when it bothered me real bad. I just dont have it anymore. It did help alot, worked at keepin the jaw more in alignment. Hope everything else is well with you.

TMJ pain

Hi allDoes anyone else suffer from pain in their TMJ? (temporal mandibular joint) I've had pain on my left side of my jaw for over a year now, but it is getting more and more painful, to the point that I now have to cut up my food into smaller pieces than normal and can't take bites out of an apple or eat very crunchy or chewy food. I always thought it was down to damage done when I had surgery last January, when I had to be intubated, but it has gone on so long, I wondered if it was all part of the AOSD picture.Hope all are well and warm.LoveC 2Visit the Still's Disease Message Boardhttp://disc.server.com/Indices/148599.htmlThe materials and information contained in this message are not intended to replace the services of a trained health professional or to be a substitute for medical advice of physicians and/or other health care professionals. Caroline, once upon a time I had the arthritis there also from an injury.

It lasted quite a while too but when it left I've never had any more

problems with it. I hope you can get some relief also. I used to ice mine

when it was real bad. Please remember to tell your doctor about it because

that is a long time. Hope this helps, Melt

Hi Trish and all who have replied!

My chiropractor said he could do an 'adjustment', but that it would

hurt A LOT and I said 'no thank you'!

All my pain is on the left side and in bed, I also always lie on my

front with my face turned on that side, which I guess doesn't help. I

can't open my mouth wide at all, but have to cut up my chocolate into

small pieces...

I'm seeing a new rheumatologist tomorrow and will tell her about it.

You never know, she may have a miracle up her sleeve. If so, I'll pass

it on.

Love to all
