Guest guest
> I am looking for information on autism as it relates specifically to Texas. I have the US dept. of education stats and that is it. There may not be much out there. Liz. Hi Liz, if you're looking at http://www.ideadata.org/tables26th/ar_aa3.xls for federal info that's probably it. But I also found an article in Exceptional Parent that cited a study by Dr Vernon (I think you know him!!!) ... " Sturmey of Queens College, and Vernon of the Texas Center for Autism Research and Treatment, also reported high prevalence rates (16 per 10,000) using data from the Texas education system in the year 2000. However, as in other reports, the number was higher for younger children (grades 1 through 3) at 22 per 10,000. " article is at http://www.eparent.com/researchreflections/researchreflections_10_02.h tm. Hope all is well with you! -Anita
