Today, I had my drains pulled by Dr. K. It was a rather long wait

for a short procedure. It was actually kind of fun talking with

other post-ops. I finally met Jim in person. They first called me

in to weigh me and take my vitals. My official pre-op weight was

463.5 pounds. My 1 week weight was 443.5 pounds. I don't know how

much of that is the loss of stomach and water and how much was fat.

I forgot to ask. There was some pain involved with pulling the

drains, but mostly it was a VERY strange feeling. It felt like

muscles were spasming... and that spasming lasted for nearly 2

hours. I was happy with eating an egg for supper. I'll be leaving

Delano around noon tomorrow. I'm feeling great right now. I have

pain only when I move my abdomen.

Hooray!!! Getting those drains removed is often a turning point in

recovery...I'm glad your feeling better.

The office will probaby kick me in the shins the next time I'm in

there...but at risk of being crippled....when I have an office visit

and they weigh me I always ask them for a copy of my weight

ticket...it tells you what your fat%, muscle% and such is...it's

great to have it to review. I also ALWAYS ask for copies of my

Labs. For One I have it to review and I can alway hand carry a copy

to my PCP, keeping his records of me up to date.

Your going to feel even better when you get home.

Hugs

Jo
