Hi Mel!

This seems like a strange one to me. The bowel is dirty, but unless it is

resected, there isn't any exposure to said " dirt " so I don't know why it would

matter! Marta, Jo, any thoughts?

I agree Jo,

And also i have seen on many sites where the surgeon does the RNY and

pannie in the same operation, so that was my reasoning in saying that they were

both do-able and not high risk.

Mel.. As long as the bowel is not " cut " into there usually isn't a

problem with " cross field " contamination.
