Vicki,

Some jobs are higher risk...That's a given ...That's why he had to have

yearly testing. I worked as a nurse since 1985. I can tell you that It isn't

always known. I have seen many times when we have cared for pts for 2-3 weeks

and then one day come into work and find the pt on isolation....LOL. It's not

the known TB pts you have to worry about, it's the person who you see on the

street or in church or out and about who has it and they don't even know.

in Bama

VBG 1982 (lost from 433lbs to 270's)

VBG to RNY1996 revision(Lost from 343 to 299)

RNY to DS revision Dec 2002 -down 118 lbs so far (377.7 to 259.4 and still

going

Okay, time for me to step in here. It is not " chemo " , but an

antibiotic pill. Today it most likely will be given for nine

months. That is the risk we take when we work in corrections and in

medicine, vicki, and it doesn't do any good to be angry except waste

your energy. He has converted or else he is allergic to the test.

Either way, a simple chest exray, or really, just a history and exam

with a physician, will show he is not having active TB in the future.
