Marta you are correct patients can do just fine with the rny. They

can be great successes. We do need to keep that in mind.

However...don't let a RNYer tell me MY surgery is no good and Soooo

Dangerous...I'm ready to whip out the Dangers of their surgeries and

what is surprising...THEY are clueless. When I ask them what they

think is so dangerous about my surgery they say " well my doctor said

it was " I say " no, your doctor only knows how to do the RNY " That

is " IF " they have even heard of the DS.

I have a RNY friend and she LOVES her surgery. However when we go

camping she never eats with the group...eventhough she cooks her

little heart out. Plus when she does eat you can find her laying

down for 30-60 min. That is just one example of the difference

between the surgeries...with both surgeries working perfectly.

It's like buying a Kia car....they run and get you around just fine,

they are more economical to buy....but it sure is nice driving

around in a Ferrari.

I love my Ferrari..uh...I mean DS!

I wish I could fit in a Ferrari. I can't fit in my sister's Porsche

Boxter either... in a year or two, I hope I can drive it (if she

still has it). The only problem is, I may still need to drive it

only with the top down. I rode in it once... nearly neading a shoe

horn to get me in, and I could not fit at all if the roof was down

(convertable obviously). I could see over the windshield easier

than through the windshield... I'm 6'5 " . I knew several tall people

that use to drive Spiders and always extended above the windshield.

(I think my post has drifted a little off subject here... but does

include weight loss and cars ;) )
