Guest guest
Some places on the internet say 5 mg weekly - some say 5 mg DAILY apart from the 2 days that I take MTX - I take 10 mg of MTX twice a week (thats what my doc said so I won't say otherwise as I have no idea if this is better or worse than taking it once). Is anyone else on Folic Acid and if so how much? I also take 20mg Pred daily and 2 grams of Sulfasalazine daily. Thanks in advance, Steve
Guest guest
Hi Steve.. I used to take 1mg of folic acid daily and 2mgs on my MTX shot night and the day after to help with the tiredness. When he tried to incress the MTX to 10ccs it affected my liver so we dropped back down to 8ccs of the MTX but he increased the folic acid to 2mgs daily. I am still taking the 2mgs daily. It helps alot with the side effects from the MTX and I am not as tired from the shots. Hope this helps some Love Kelley in Colorado

Guest guest
I take one Folic Acid pill a day because of the MTX. I know some of us take more and I asked my Rheumatologist if I should increase it and he told me no. If I take more, he said that it would work against the MTX. I don't know.....I guess I'll just follow his advice. Ca. Carmen
