Guest guest
Hi Montana Dan, Thanks for the update! It sounds as if you are doing fairly well except for the screaming liver. I do hope the D. Dragon has already left your presence or is about to. The way I lost the weight I wanted to a few years ago was I went and got myself a bleeding ulcer. Couldn't eat hardly nothing for about 3 months. It was caused by Relafen, and my rhuemy refusing to script something to protect the stomach. I told him it would happen..he said it wouldn't. A belated birthday wish for you my friend! Wisconsin, Tricia p.s. Keep going and hopefully soon you will be off all the meds, and can have a few swigs of moonshine once again. hehehehehe.. -- Dan & the White Coat Hi EveryoneI went to visit the Rheumy White Coat this morning. Here is the latest news on me. We went throught the usual drill of trying to twist my joints out of socket, and the call everyone in the office over to see if the springs popped out of the scales. The numbers from the blood suckers report was kinda showing that me liver is screaming for some relief, so we are going to try and decrease the MTX some more. I had been taking 7 pills (17.5 mg) and had went down to 6 pills (15 mg). White Coat says for me to try going down to 4 pills (10 mg) and keep an eye out to see how we do. Speaking of eye, he had no real comment for me dry itchy eyes other than just put in a drop or two of visine like I had been doing. So my drugs are getting less and less. Down to the MTX and folic acid and celebrex now. White Coat says it looks like I do not have any bad rhumatiod arthritis stuff really going on now, and maybe , just maybe, the old dragon has lost his flame. The waiting game is now on. We will take the 4 MTX pills a week now untill I go back to visit White Coat in another 4 months. I have only took two pain pills in about the last 6 months, and have really slowed down on the tylenols also. I need to get interested in reading my how not to be a fat boy that Dr. Phill wrote. I find the book extreamly boring. Next goal is how not to draw a crowd when it is time to weigh in at the White Coats office. It is either that or I will have to go to the truck stop and get weighed in there on the truck scales. DanMontana
Guest guest
Hey Dan! So glad the dragon is losing with you (I think he is with me too - just got to get a few female mecanics taken care of and I'll be better - blah, blah, blah!!) About this concern you have over losing weight. Here's my two cents. I used to be overweight as a teenager (about 40 pounds) due to an eating disorder (I liked to binge but couldn't purge like all my friends - thank God I couldn't because I still have a digestive tract, unlike some of my friends!). I am sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo sick of Americans and our diets. Low carb this, eat hot dogs all day and lose 25 pounds, take this pill and we'll peal you off the ceiling, but you'll be skinny like all the Hollywood frieks. To heck with diets! Eat what you like (as long as there is healthy stuff in there), and keep the quantities at a level which will allow you to lose weight at a moderate pace and do some exercise. You don't have to join a gym and hang out with the brainless buff frieks. Walk a little or whatever you enjoy - key word you enjoy. I'm not trying to lecture Dan. I've been there, and none of the American fad diets worked with me. I just had to eat normal portions of healthy foods with some junk now and then and exercise some, and the weight will start to drop. To heck with Dr. Phil - his attitude needs some work. JUst letting you know I understand, and hoping you'll find something that works for you....Love, The Dutchess of Dixie, Chris >From: " Dan Steppe " <dan@...> >> >Hi Everyone > >I went to visit the Rheumy White Coat this morning.
