Guest guest
My suggestion is for you to get your Extra Help application closed out and resubmit the application electronically yourself through the Medicare website. The copays for HIV meds are close to being the same…You may want to consider a Medicare advantage plan such as a Humana PFFS to keep your overall medical costs under control. Their copays are 15.00 for Primary care, 30-40 for Specialist and 65 for ER. All of their information is accessible through the internet so you can keep tabs on that stuff easily. Guest guest
I would strongly urge you to make an in-person appointment with your local Social Security office to take care of this immediately and face to face.Regarding Part D insurance, I use Aetna, combined with Extra Help, and I pay nothing for my meds out of pocket. For a few months at the beginning of the year, I paid the $6.50 for each drug that is required by Extra Help but, apparently, after I’ve reached a certain amount out of pocket, I pay nothing for the remainder of the year. Guest guest
I believe the original post had stated that he lost his appeal on his old application based on the information submitted. The further that one goes up the appeals process in the SSA Pyramid, the longer that it will take for resolution. If the person’s finances or situation has changed, they should reapply. I had helped someone here in Ohio straighten the same type of problem out.
