I'm not sure where you are located, but in my state, they have to follow the IEP...otherwise, what good is it? Perhaps call your SSD and inquire about how the district is not following the IEP and why. Don't give up! There is another group here on that gives IEP help. Be aware it fills up your inbox like crazy - sometimes 50-60 emails a day but if you don't mind deleteing and sifting through to get good advice it's worth it then sign out of group when you are done. It's called IEP Guide. And yes an IEP is a law binding contract. They have to abide by that and since they are not there are steps you must take to enforce it. If they don't feel he needs it, it has to be agreed upon in a meeting that it be changed. They can't just pick and choose what they think he needs - based on what - they're opinion? Nope.

It doesn't matter if your son has had A+++++++ for years!! The IEP is a legal binding document and if this was a provision written in the IEP they absolutely have to comply REGARDLESS of the imposition on the teachers. You have got to nip this in the bud right now. They need to know that your not going away and you'll fight for your son. You are your son's greatest advocate and once they know this they will get things done. I had to go so far as to highlight the provisions portion of the IEP and hand deliver it to all the teachers. They'll give you all the excuses in the world and all you have to say "Not my problem".
