Guest guest
Can you tell me more about the HIDA scan. Lucas is going to have a EGD next week. Basically scoping everything while he is under a general anesthesia. The GI doc is concerned about EE, EG and also gallbladder. Lucas has been throwing up off and on for over a year. Could be just reflux but he had Eosinophilic Gastroenteritis when he was a baby and continued to have problems until we started Gamma when he was 4. Do gallbladders really go bad so young? Also he did RAST testing and is going to do a breath test for Lactose intolerance. I know he has food allergies but am not sure what since we were dealing with so many other things as he was younger. Now it is time to get more specific and see what we can do for him. BARBIE Re:Chronic belly pain This sounds very much like my daughter's gall bladder issues. She eventually had it out at 5 years old and she felt much better. I do have to say though, even if it is his gall bladder though, there is a greater than 70% chance his pain will remain even if it is removed. Apparently they think that as the gall bladder gets inflammed, nerves are damaged and therefore the pain remains even once the cause is removed. Marriela does have chronic belly pain again, BUT it is not related to food any longer (which I feel is a positive, so she doesn't associate food with pain) and it isn't nearly as bad as it was pre-removal. Sorry to hear your little guy is having issues. I'll pray for him. PS. The test to determine if it is the gall bladder is called a HIDA scan (ultrasounds are not nearly sensitive enough) and it is 99% accurate in determining gall bladder function and liver issues. ************ **Planning your summer road trip?
