Guest guest
Can someone please help me find the comparison chart of IVIG brands? I thought it was on the IDF website but I can't find it. Guest guest
Yes, . I think it was posted in one of the IDF newsletters last year (or maybe in 2006?) but I can't seem to find it right now. Dr. Gelfand also has a nice comparison chart at: http://doctor.medscape.com/viewarticle/474408 I'll send you a jpg image of the table to your email as an attachment...in case you can see the article at Medscape. Best wishes,
Guest guest
Thanks, . I could read it, but I need a more updated chart as they are wanting to use Gammagard Liquid and the chart you sent has only S/D. If anyone else has this chart, please send it ASAP. Thanks! Guest guest
, could you take the comparison chart and just call Baxter and ask them how Gammagard Liquid compares - in other words create your own chart. Just a suggestion. I don't have a new comparison chart. Have you called IDF? (Immune Deficiency Foundation 1-800-296-4433) In His service, dale Hobbs wrote: > > > Thanks, . Guest guest
Hi , Is there something specific that you are wanting to know about Gammagard liquid? One thing I do know that it is not indicated for those with severe IgA deficiency, where the Gammagard S/D is. Guest guest
Here is a chart that works: http://www.blooddiagnostics.com/Comparison%20Charts/IVIG_Chart.pdf We are running around like crazy, I'm sure we'll catch up soon! Kelsey's surgery is there at the end of the month. So glad you are settling in with the docs in Indy! BTW, we ADORE Dr. Belcher, you'll have to tell him we said hello (my best friend likes to say that he's easy on the eyes too!)
Guest guest
We are being asked to switch from Gamunex to Gammagard Liquid and I want to see a good comparison of the two. The sugar content is a big concern because of their GSD with specific brands but not with either of these two. has been on Gamunex for over 2 ½ years and Meredith for almost 6 months so it’s scary to switch. The new hospital said it will be hard to get enough Gamunex for them and they keep Gammagard Liquid constantly. I looked into the Gamunex delivery program but the hospital had concerns about that too. It’s hard because I know it’s cheaper for them to switch us but it’s not worth a big fuss if it’s truly ok. I know Gammagard S/D is contraindicated for them but the liquid looks ok from what I have seen. I wanted the chart to send to our metabolic specialist to have him review the differences to be sure they are truly comparable. BTW, , let me know when you might be in Indy and we can get together. We’re supposed to go to Cincinnati ASAP, but I don’t have the appts yet. I’ll let you know and maybe we’ll end up running into each other again! Thanks for any help any of you can provide! Guest guest
Kelsey's surgery is at St. V on the 29th. We were told that she will likely stay at least a day afterwards. She says she wants to come right home, so we'll have to wait and see. I don't think I know Dr. Hilden, our hematologist left awhile back and we never established with a new one. Are you doing IVIG in the pediatric hem/onc clinic at St. V? For years we had done IVIG as an inpatient in the children's hospital, however the last couple of times before transplant we did it in hem/onc and Conner liked that a lot better. We are told that we will be coming back to St. V in the next few months and Dr. Belcher will take over our care again. Do you have a set IVIG schedule yet? Take care,
Guest guest
Thanks ! Is Kelsey's surgery in Cincinnati or Indy? We saw Dr. Belcher 2 weeks ago and won't go back until we need him since the hematologist (Dr. Hilden) is handling IVIG and addressing neutropenia. He was very nice, though. Will you guys be able to move infusions back to St. V or will you still have to go to Cincy for the next year? It'd be fun to hang out together while the kids got IVIG! Guest guest
My oldest, , has ballet on Tues almost right across the street from St. V's. Maybe I could bring you dinner? Her class is from 6-7. Dr. Hilden only sees patients one half day a week (Tues am) as she is also the medical director at the hospital. I think she's fairly new to Indy - I think she said she moved about 9 months ago so you might have missed her. She trained with Dr. Filopovich and knows her pretty well, so I think it's going to be good to have her communicating with Dr. F with her recommendations and can get answers for us - at least easier and quicker than before since the communication has been pretty poor. We are doing IVIG in the hem/onc clinic. There was concern about getting it done while it was open (8a-6p) but we managed ok on Tues, although didn't get his full dose because they didn't have enough Gamunex (they hadn't realized we had just gone up). The kids had fun there and if we ever run long, they'd transfer us to the floor to finish up. Our schedule at this point is every 3 weeks on Tuesdays (so we can see Dr. Hilden). I think I remember you saying Conner had stretched to 4 weeks, right? Well, at least aim for Tuesdays on the weeks you'd match up with us! :-) I still haven't heard back from about our next Cincy appt. Hopefully tomorrow!
