Guest guest
Hi. I'm a full time mom of four children, the oldest nearly 8 year old girl, 5 year old son (Aspergers, Sensory Integration Disorder, and ADHD), nearly 2 year old son (yet to be diagnosed..many of the same symptoms as my other son) and 1 month old daughter. I am ending my first year of homeschooling both my daughter and son. I found it challenging, not only being new to homeschooling, but because of my childrens' individual needs. Although my son goes to OT once a week for an hour I still find it hard for him to sit and listen to a brief direction even after lots and lots of working with him (ourselves at home as well as the OT). My daughter always showed some symptoms of ADHD but not enough to make it so severe that she couldn't do basic functions. She has become more aware of her attention deficit and now my younger son has become tougher and tougher each day. Our public school system here is not good for a " normal " child and know full well our children would get lost in the shuffle. We had done private school for two years with our daughter where she was bored b/c she was ahead. I'm trying to challenge her and work with her ADHD but finding it hard with the boys. Any suggestions I can try to get them on the right track? Thanks so much!
