Guest guest
Hi, I'm new to this group. We are looking into a preschool that only has spectrum children attending. It is a therapy, developmental kind of " preschool " ...Again it is not a typical preschool but rather they do music therapy, speech, all naturalistic, etc. Our little guy is 20 months old, will be 2 by the time it begins. He is highly sensory defensive, and panics when I leave him even with Grandma...while he does soothe, it takes him time, and sometimes he just can't. I know that I have this window of opportunity where learning might be so much easier for him now than later...... Will you please tell me your preschool experience? How did you help you little one to begin...did you shadow, did you let the therapists help you with detachment...how long did it take your child to adjust... Thanks so much.
