Most of these countries we would be getting wood from practice strip cutting and no-replanting. When they are bare, the US and other countries which practice reforestration and proper timber management will be able to sell wood at a premium. I've got some land that has timber on it and I have considered harvestation, but I am letting it be a bird and animal sanctuary for the time being.
