Hello !! You are more prove that the scale doesn't tell the story !! I get

discouraged all the time !! I weigh 143 right now and it is not budging !! I

was 150 so that's one good thing but I have this # thing and I want to be 130

but with the muscle it won't happen. I'm big busted too so that does affect

it !! Congrats on your waist !!! That's what's important, not the scale !!

You look great!! I know that when you are feeling frustrated it doesn't

matter how many people tell you that you don't need to lose weight. You want

it gone! But I am so proud of you for focusing on your inches lost and your

muscle definition. You are doing such an awesome job and you really do look

Urg! I know, but I've never really gained weight on hem before. Plus I've only

been on them for a month. I have to though. I'm one of the few women in my

family to still have a womb thanks to endometriosis and ovarian cancer. Yuck.

Both of my ob/Gyn said I needed to be on for life and get off only when I

planned to have children.

Penny you are doing great! 12 " is wonderful!! I have to remind myself to be

happy with the small changes. I am not new to exercise at all. I've bene doing

aerobics prtty consistently since I was 12. I use to shut myself in my room and

run in place for two hours at a time! lol. I've been Taeboing for well over a

year and I'm very happy to have some definition, I just need to learn to accept

that I will never be thin, thin. I will always have curves. I do really want to

have a breast reduction though. That way I can sleep, run and breathe a little

easier. Thats really what I want to shrink right now. Eveyrthing else I am

prepared to live with.

But as long as you can look in the mirror and see postive changes, ignore the

scale. I myself have to ignore the desire to compare myself to every thin super

star out there, because I will just drive myself back into anorexia or eating

binges. I have learned so much from Taebo and really do have a much better self

esteem. But I still can't help but look in the mirror every once (or at the

scale) in a while and be disgusted. When I do that its important for me to find

something positive about myself or that I've done immediatly, and to tell the

other nasty part of myself to shut up.

Ok...I'm obviously post-menstrual lol

to a 27-inch waist you will hear me screaming from joy all the way in Austin.

You have a great body, IMO, one that I would have died for in high school. You

are probably right that your bust adds on a good 10-15 pounds because of the way

you are built. I hope that you can get the breast reduction you want one one

day. Hey, maybe register for your wedding with a plastic surgeon? Wouldn't

be surprised.

Thanks Elena! I think it probably adds about 5lbs..ITs fat so its light <ugh>.

Well I already have a dress that I fill out...so I'll have to do the surgery

pot-nuptials. I know is going to hate it. One time this drunk man on 6th

street (its a big Austin party hangout) yelled at me (james was with me)...ain't

nothing like a big busted woman....boy did his chest stick out after that.

Thanks for the compliment though!!!!!

The best thing about Taebo, besides what it does for your spirit is what it

does for your abs!! After doing Taebo for about 6 months, my son who is 13

said my abs looked just like the girls in the front row of the video (Debbie

and Shellie) and I have to admit the results have been amazing. I have 4

kids and have NEVER had abs like the ones that I have now. Here is a

hint-----if you can do Taebo in front of a mirror DO IT. It really helps

with your form.

I'm glad that you went and looked at all the other ways your body is

changing...you are gaining muscle and losing inches! Don't let the

scale get you down...it's not an accurate measure of our progress! You

total...which I am thrilled about, however, the scales have not

budged...grrr! If anything I've gained a pound or two, but I am

Penny,

Just keep focusing on the inches you have lost! I'm telling you the

scale is not an accurate measure of anything. I had this pair of

shorts on yesterday and they were almost falling off of me. This was a

pair of shorts that fit me back in my " skinny " days when I might have

weighed 140 or so. I weigh between 150 and 155 lbs. now and the shorts

were tighter back when I was 140. So, as long as you are able to fit

into smaller size clothes, it shouldn't matter what the scale says. I

know this is a hard lesson to learn (believe me, I was truly scale

obsessed), but I refuse to let that thing dictate how I feel about

myself anymore. It just isn't worth it to me to obsess about some

magical number that I may or may not ever reach. Just remember that

you are toning and shaping and losing inches and that is some serious

progress. The scale will move eventually and if it doesn't....as long

as you continue to lose inches, it won't matter what number that scale

says :)

Penny and Sabinra (and whoever else lol)

I know exactly what you both mean! I know it is a great thing that I have

lost 13 " but everytime I step on the scale I expect to see some pounds gone

and they are not going anywhere. For me it has been about 3 weeks stuck at

159 ish or so. I think I figure that if I am losing inches I " should " be

losing some weight along with it.

Sorry I have been quiet..I didn't even really check my email yesterday

and now I have over 100 emails just from this list that I am wading through.

The bridal shower was good. A few of my relitives said they could really

tell that I am getting slimmer. Good thing they had salad and pasta to eat

at the shower..although the cake was probably not very " un " fattening huh?

LOL

I know that must be stressful not to see the scale move especially whith

the whole military thing. Which reminds me...if you don't meet that wight don't

they have an alternate body fat percentage test?? I'm pretty sure they do for

the men. You are doing something awesome for yourself so I wish you could

ignore that phoeey scale.

I got all in a hissy because I weighed myself on my parents scale while I was

visiting this weekend and it showed the weight I was at 6 months ago. My fiance

told me that he believes that the scale is a couple of pounds on the heavy side.

At least when he weighed on it...so it made me feel better .. Even though I

shouldn't care. I really hate that, that I'm so tied to the scale. I don't even

own one anymore and I'm STILL obsessed with it.

I had such a bad night last night. I hate to admit what a baby I was. But I

started to Taebo very late last night. (I was watching the Audrey Hepburn

movie)Well I tired bringing a full lenght mirror in to help me with my form and

I got very depressed with the way I looked. Whn I was punching it felt like I

was angry and punching myself. I stopped after 20 minutes even though I hadn't

done the workout befroe because I don't working out to be about beating myself

up and I was already really upset at that point.

I'll have to make up fo it today, but I am in a better frame of mind today. I

know a lot of this is me forgetting to take my anti-depressants and me drinking

way too much soda and not enough water lately. I have non-period water weight

and its my own fault, and when I look in the mirror I still see fat. So no more

than one soda per day now...period. I just got to work on remembering to take

those #$%% pills.

Ok...I've really rambled. But its cathartic.

Dearest Snotella:

Thank you so much. FOr the most part I'm usually very accpting of the way I

look...just every once in a while I have a bad day or two...and I think its

linked with my depression...that I start looking in the mirror with those

aneroxic eyes. The last two days were the worst in a LONG while. I appreciate

everyone's support and compliments. I so badly want to be an actress...not some

kind of glamour starlet..but someone who plays interesting roles and I'm so

afraid that starting at such a late stage in life (for an actress anyways) that

it will be impossible. I feel like I HAVE to look at least like a starlet to

maybe get a bit part or two.

Some of this is stemming from a feeling of not knowing what I am. I was always

very involved with band, but was not talented enought to continue professionally

as a flutist. I've always loved singing..but just hav an ok voice. etc. I love

the fine arts and want to have a career in the fine arts. Politics is just my

hobby (for now), but it doesn't move me the same way performing does. I fell

like I have let to much of my favorite parts of me slip away and that I might

not get them back again, because my age and body will limit me. I know I can

overcome it, but again, when the depression kicks in so does the neurosis and

self-criticism.

Thank you!!!!
