I think the injection into the knee thread is what you might want to follow:

there is far less systemic risk from injecting one or two joints than taking

cortisone orally.

I know you said natural remedies don't work, but have you tried ice? I find

it hard to ice my hands, but ice is a natural anti-inflammatory, so I have

to mention it. I ice my wrists all the time.
