Guest guest
Hi all - I was wondering if any other long-term Sculptra users have noticed changes to the effectiveness of the product. Of note is that during my last 2 treatments, the doc has commented on the difficulty of injecting the product - saying my skin seems to be more fibrous - and this causes the needle to clog before the injection is complete. I think the problem with the injection is the reason my last treatment does not seem to have been as effective as in the past. I believe less product is actually being delivered. I have spoken to a friend in Canada who is experiencing the same effect (also a long-term user). I started receiving injections from Dr. Frechette in NY back in 2004 when it was still undergoing FDA approval and still somewhat affordable, so it's been 6 years since my first treatment. My last 2 treatments have been via a cosmetic doc who, while having delivered >1000 treatments, has no background dealing specifically with HIV issues - not that this should make a difference. I will be in Montreal the end of this month on vacation and have gotten an appointment for a treatment there. Besides being a lot less expensive (~50% cheaper), my hope is that a doc that is actually an M.D. who deals with HIV patients on a daily basis will have more insight into the issues I described above. Anyone else experiencing anything like this? Joe
