A couple of questions.

My doctor told a while back glutamine is hard on the kidney and

if I wanted to take it make sure to drink lots of water with it.

Any concerns about taking so much glutamine per day?

Calcium 600mg also pretty hight any thing any one should be concerned about?

Thanks

strengthening the gut

BOY! Everyone sure has a lot to say about the runs! I can identify with

ALL of it.... been there, done that, soiled the t-shirt.... no fun at all!

I'd like to share with you the BEST suggestions which came to me over many

years of reading this list's posts, and which have COMPLETELY eliminated

those problems for me.

Now keep in mind that everyone's system, tolerances, and poisons are

different, but I MOST highly recommend a suggestion I got through either

Charlie Smigelski or : L-Glutamine powder. What I read was the the

gut-lining gets weakened over time by meds, stress, caffeine, alcohol, etc,

etc and loses it's ability to absorb. For me, everytime I finished a gym

workout I immediately had the runs for a few hours until nothing more was

left in me..... UGH!!

So as an experiment I got a kilo-size container of Jarrow L-Glutamine

powder and took about 6 grams (two tiny scoops) with water right after the

workout. It took about THREE WEEKS to see a difference, but first " the

morning runs " lessened and then disappeared, and finally after about SIX

weeks the post-workout runs disappeared too! I'm now a firm believer that

L-Glutamine can help restore gut-health and strength and function OVER A

PERIOD OF TIME! Don't expect an immediate result!! Feed the body the raw

materials it needs to do the repair work, and stay on the program.... maybe

this will make a difference for you!

I also highly recommend what others on the list have suggested.....

acidophilus bacteria on a daily basis to repopulate the internal flora

necessary to good digestion, which are extremely challenged by the meds we

take, caffeine, alcohol, stress.... and on and on. While yogurt is

helpful, HUGE quantities contained in tiny capsules (kept refrigerated) are

MANY times more helpful than what you get in a cup of yogurt. You can even

open the capsules and sprinkle them INTO your yogurt if you like!!

And thirdly.... Calcium (with D3) has also made a difference for me! I've

been on Kaletra for easily 6 years now and have ALWAYS been affected by the

Norvir in it.... even after they reformulated it to a solid pill form.

600mg calcium once in the morning ended that (for me) once and for all !!!

Maybe these will work for you, maybe not! They're inexpensive to give it a

try. The KEY is to take it/them OVER A PERIOD OF SEVERAL WEEKS to see if

there's a change.... NOT just a couple days!! The body needs some time to

USE these vital materials and embark upon HUGE " reconstruction projects " !!

And when it does, you will certainly know it!!

GOOD LUCK on the journey! May you find healthful solutions to all your

side-effects!!
